Did you know the first adjustment ever given wasn’t for back pain, neck pain or headaches? Harvey Lillard was a janitor that worked on the block of Dr. D.D. Palmer in 1895. The doctor inquired of the cause of the deafness and learned that it followed a feeling of something “give way” in his back. Upon examining his spine the doctor found it racked from its normal position. After a short conversation, Mr. Lillard allowed the doctor to realign his spine. The man regained his hearing following the adjustment.
There was nothing ‘accidental’ about this, as it was accomplished with an objective view, and the result expected was obtained. There was nothing ‘crude’ about the adjustment; it was specific, so much so that no chiropractor has equaled it.
Thus, chiropractic services were born!
